Memory in AI Integrator Chat belongs to the account, so saved facts carry across every model, including GPT, Claude and Gemini. Every fact can be read, edited, verified or deleted, and three switches control what Chat remembers.
- You state a fact. In any chat, with any model
- Saved to memory. With undo under the reply
- Settings > Memory. Edit, verify or delete
- Used in later replies. When it matches the message
- You state a fact to Saved to memory
- Saved to memory to Settings > Memory
- Saved to memory to Used in later replies
The three switches
Memory settings are under Settings > Memory on the web, the desktop app and iPhone. All three switches are on by default.
- Dynamic Memory. "Chat can save facts you state about yourself, and keep them up to date." Each project has its own switch under it, so one project can keep its chats out of memory.
- Use saved memories. Lets a reply draw on the facts that have been saved. With this off, facts can still be saved, and replies stop using them.
- Chat History Memory. Past replies become searchable, so an old answer can inform a new one. Chats stay in the sidebar whether this is on or off.
What gets saved
Chat saves durable facts you state about yourself or your work, such as the tools you use, your role or a preference for short answers. It does not save secrets or credentials, and it refuses links, text that looks like an API key, and text written to look like instructions to the model.
When a reply saves, updates or removes a fact, a note appears under it: Saved to memory, Updated memory or Forgot, with undo beside it.
Incognito chats neither read nor save memory, and they are never added to chat history search.
Seeing and editing memories
On the web, the Memories section lists every saved fact with its scope (Global or a project's name) and its tags. The list can be filtered by scope and by tag. Each fact can be changed with Edit memory, confirmed with Mark verified, or removed with Delete memory, which asks "Forget this memory?" first.
Tags group facts by subject, and each fact has one to five. Chat can suggest a new tag, which waits under Proposed until you approve or reject it. You can add up to 32 tags of your own.
On iPhone the same page has the switches, memories, tags and chat history. The desktop app shows saved facts with verify and delete, and editing a fact is done on the web.
How memory reaches a reply
At the start of each turn, Chat adds the facts that match the current message, marked as background information for the model to use and never as instructions to follow. The model can also search saved memories and past chats with tools when a question needs more. The search uses the account's embedding model, which can be changed under Embedding model on the same page.
Clearing chat history memory
The Chat history section shows how many pieces of past chats are indexed. Wipe deletes all of them and turns Chat History Memory off until you switch it back on. Your chats stay in the sidebar, and saved facts are unaffected.
Memory for Agents
Each Agent has its own memory setting: Use account settings, Read only or Off. Read only lets the Agent use saved facts without adding new ones. Off turns off both saved facts and chat history search for that Agent. Your account settings always set the upper limit. More on Agents is in Introducing Agents.
