0.3.5: Memory Editing & Subagent Runtimes

Chat can correct and combine its memories with Undo, a Code subagent can run on its own runtime and model, and replies stream while they are checked.

Chat can now correct a memory or fold duplicates into one, and Undo brings back what the change replaced. In Code, a subagent can run on a different runtime, model and effort from the chat that started it. Replies in Chat also stream word by word again while they are checked.

Memory editing

Until now, Chat could save a new memory or forget one, but it could not fix one. Now, when you tell it that something it remembers is wrong or out of date, it can rewrite that memory, and it can merge several memories that say the same thing into one. The note under the message shows the change, and Undo restores the old memories exactly as they were. A memory you wrote or edited yourself is marked as yours, and Chat cannot overwrite it. Local Chat on the desktop can now update and forget its memories too.

New memories are searched with Amazon's Titan Text Embeddings V2, which offers zero data retention and no training on every host, so memory works with the default privacy settings. While Zero Data Retention is on, the embedding models that cannot offer it stay off in the list. Memory in AI Integrator Chat explains how memory works.

Subagent runtimes

A Code chat can hand part of its work to a subagent, a second coding agent that works in the background and reports back. A subagent can now start on its own runtime, model and effort. You can ask a Claude Code chat to send a review to Codex, or a quick search to a smaller model, and the chat keeps its own settings. When nothing is named, the subagent uses the saved Agent's settings, or the chat's own.

The tab in Code's right rail that lists them is now called Subagents, on the desktop and on iPhone. Introducing AI Integrator Code describes the runtimes Code works with.

Other changes

  • A reply streams while it is checked, one paragraph at a time. If a paragraph breaks the rules, only that paragraph is replaced with "This part was removed.", and the rest of the reply stays.
  • A tool that fails shows as a failed step in the reply, not as the model refusing.
  • A voice tool does not run twice while the first try is still working.
  • If sending fails, your draft comes back. If a reply fails to save, the chat is free to try again.
  • A chat's timer starts when you press Send, and starting or renaming the chat no longer resets it.
  • A file open in Code uses your code size and line height from Appearance, with new 1.45, 1.60 and 1.80 line height presets.
  • Quitting the app ends the coding programs it started.
  • A computer step that is still running is not started a second time.
  • On iPhone, the chat list shows before the open chat finishes loading.
  • An artifact can read your EVE Online data. Pages can only run plugin actions that read.
  • You can change part of a saved page and keep the rest of it as it was.
  • Picture tiles keep their shape in the file and image pickers.
  • New Files and artifact demo clips are on the site.
