About Code schedules#

Scheduled Tasks in the desktop app’s sidebar lists Code schedules on this computer. When Chat scheduling is available, the list also includes Chat schedules, with All, Chat, and Code filters. A Code schedule runs on this computer, in a project or task here. It doesn’t run in the cloud, and it doesn’t sync the repository to your account.

Agent routines are a third type. They post in an Agent’s home conversation, and you create them in Chat. See Scheduled tasks, including why a routine’s model is locked.

Create a Code schedule#

1. In the desktop app, click New scheduled task.
2. Enter a Name, and describe the work in What should the agent do?.
3. In Continue in, choose New chat, New chat in a project, or an existing task.
4. In Run with, choose the runtime, the model, and, optionally, a reasoning level.
5. Set Permission ceiling to Read only or Project write. Full access is available only when the schedule and the runtime allow it. Set Delegation to Off or Auto, if the runtime supports it.
6. Choose Once or Repeat (in minutes, hours, or days), and set Run at or First run at.
7. Turn on Build on previous runs if each run should see the previous one.
8. Click Create. The schedule is saved on this computer.

View runs#

Open a schedule. Setup shows its settings, and Runs shows its history. Pause and Resume affect future runs. Run now starts a run immediately. Save keeps your changes. A run can be queued, active, completed, or failed. Open chat opens the Code task so you can review the changes.

Code schedules on iPhone#

To see Scheduled Tasks on iPhone, sign in to Chat. You can see Chat schedules and Code schedules on a computer you can reach, filter by computer, and open the task. When the computer allows it, you can also pause, cancel, run now, and view history. You can create Code schedules only in the desktop app. Pairing doesn’t add Code scheduling to your iPhone.
