Skills and plugins in Code

Open the Code library#

Open Skills & Plugins from the Code sidebar or settings. Marketplace supports discovery and previews. Installed contains the enablement and connection controls. Use the Code filter to see entries intended for local work. An entry enabled for Chat is not automatically usable by Code.

A skill supplies instructions for a task. A connector supplies callable access to a service. A plugin bundles skills or connections. Some entries are instruction-only and need local software to perform the work they describe.

Install and configure#

Select an entry, review its contents, and install it. In Installed, check that Code is enabled. Open the plugin detail to enable only the child skills needed. A child skill offered in several collections shares its enabled state across those collections.

Code installations and local connections belong to the desktop. The local library can be managed without a Chat account; account-provided integrations and shared preferences require their respective account services. Connecting a Chat account to a service does not copy its credentials into an installed coding agent.

For OAuth, use the connection flow shown for Code. For a key-based service, enter the key through its settings control. A desktop-only sign-in callback must be completed on the desktop. Check the entry's status after connecting.

Use a skill in a task#

The Code composer supports slash skills and context references. Select an available skill or describe the work clearly so the runtime can choose from the enabled capabilities. The selected provider determines which native commands and skill-loading behavior are supported. A plugin's name alone does not guarantee that its tools are available to every runtime.

For a shared agent, the agent's selected skills and connectors can narrow the Code library further. Repository access and permission prompts still apply to file changes and external actions.

Useful starting points#

The catalog includes OpenAI Codex skills, Anthropic skills, and Google Workspace skills for their respective workflows. Skill Creator helps turn a repeated procedure into a local skill. AI Integrator Government and AI Integrator Finance supply data skills for analysis. Cursor Cloud Agents adds vendor-hosted repository work with a separate dispatch confirmation.
