Delegation

Set permissions#

Mode, permission, delegation can offer these permissions:

• Read only — reads files but doesn’t edit them.
• Project write — edits files inside the project.
• Ask as needed — asks for your approval before it acts.
• Full access — available only when the runtime and your policy both allow it.

If an option is missing, the runtime doesn’t offer it.

Mode appears when the runtime has more than one working mode. Delegation can be No delegation, Manual approval, or Auto, when the runtime supports them.

Delegate work to an Agent#

Describe the outcome, the files involved, and the evidence you want back. You review the result in the lead task. The Agent works within that assignment’s limits. It doesn’t use another runtime’s login or another folder’s Git state.

Task tools → Agents shows Agent activity. With Manual approval, proposals wait there for you. With Auto, work proceeds within the limits. If an Agent needs a decision, an approval appears in the task. For limits, the one-editor rule, and profiles, see Agents in Code.

On iPhone, you can see the same activity and answer approvals when your device has permission. You can’t raise the permission set on your computer.
