Runtimes
Install a coding runtime, sign in with the vendor, and set a default model.
Choose a runtime and model
Open Model and reasoning in the composer to choose Runtime, Model, and Intelligence. Choose the runtime first. The model list comes from that runtime, not from the Chat model list. Fast appears only when the selected model supports it. Check your selection after you pause, resume, or switch projects.
Switching runtimes doesn’t add a vendor login to your AI Integrator account or make a Chat model available in Code. Tools, permissions, delegation, and resume behavior can differ between runtimes. The composer shows only what the selected runtime supports.
Install and sign in
In Settings → Runtimes & Models, choose Check all.

Options that a runtime doesn’t support are disabled.
Set defaults
Edit defaults for a runtime sets its preferred model and effort. Favorite runtime can be a specific runtime or Last used. New chats use your favorite runtime. Last used uses the runtime from your previous session. A default doesn’t apply while that runtime is signed out.
Vendor subscriptions are billed by the vendor and don’t convert to Chat usage. For the Chat model list, see Models. For how the Chat and Code meters differ, see Plans and usage.
