Open a terminal#

Choose View → Toggle terminal to open Project terminal in the project folder. New terminal adds a session, up to twelve. Each session shows Starting…, Ready, Exited, or Unavailable.

Drag the handle to change the terminal’s height. Stop ends the selected session. Restart starts it again when the project allows it. Closing a session removes it from the terminal list.

Set up a runtime#

View → Runtime setup opens a separate terminal for installing or signing in to a runtime. It isn’t the project terminal or the task transcript. If a vendor asks for a password, an MFA code, or a key, enter it there. Settings → Runtimes & Models also has Install, sign-in, Update, and Check all.

The task’s permission determines whether the agent can run a command or must ask first. Don’t paste passwords or keys into the transcript.

On iPhone, you can follow a run and open the task browser, but you can’t open a terminal. Signing in to Chat doesn’t give Chat a terminal.
